Vidya Balan
Vidya Balan is one of the best actresses in Indian Cinema. This Kerala beauty was born on 1 January 1978 and is known for her portrayal of the common woman and performance oriented roles. She was born to a housewife mother and the Vice President of ETC Channel P.R Balan. She has an elder sister named Priya.
This beauty with brains graduated in Sociology and was pursuing her MA in the University of Mumbai when she got her calling. She was initially signed in a lot of movies and was supposed to make her debut alongside veteran actor Mohanlal but either her movies were shelved or she was replaced.
She then started appearing in commercials and from 1998 onwards and she performed in a few music videos. Vidya had also appeared in the first season of the hit T.V. show Hum Paanch before she got replaced yet again.
Vidya eventually made her entry into movies with the hit Bengali film Bhalo Theko and then made her entry in Bollywood with the hit movie Parineeta opposite Saif Ali Khan. There was no looking back for Vidya after she starred in the blockbuster movie Lage Raho Munna Bhai with Sanjay Dutt. Some of the other movies Vidya has appeared in were Guru, Salaam-e-Ishq, Eklavya, Heyy Babbyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Paa. She will be next seen in Ishqkiya, Mukti, Chand Bhai, Chenab Gandhi, Mathulukalkkappuram and No One Killed Jessica in 2010.
Vidya has been romantically linked with her Kismat Konnection co-star Shahid Kapoor but the link up has been rubbished by both parties stating they’re just friends. She has also faced some criticism from fashion designers and other personalities for her fashion sense and weight but she’s ignored it all and is focusing on her acting and not letting such comments affect her.
