Bollywood’s Big Brother
Sunil Shetty also known as Anna (brother) is one of the best actors in Indian cinema. Born in Mangalore on 11 August 1961 the Actor-Producer-Television Presenter-Entrepreneur-Hotelier’s a brown belt martial artist. He is perhaps one of the few actors who have made the most of their ‘name brand’ outside the world of endorsements and cinema by venturing out in different fields. A smart businessman and a loyal husband, he is married to Mana Shetty and has two children with her, Ahan and Athiya.
Sunil made his debut in 1992 with Balwan, which received an average response. His big break came with Mohra in 1994. Sunil has starred in over a hundred movies, some super hits and some major flops. His career soared in the early nineties as the era for action movies was at its prime and with his bulky physique he managed to make the most of it. He then moved on to romantic roles. Sunil also tried his hand at comedy and eventually settled for multi starrer movies.
Some of Sunil’s successful movies include Dilwale, Gopi Kishan, Border, Refugee, Qayamat, LOC:Kargil, Hera Pheri, Awara Paagal Deewana, Phir Hera Pheri, De Dana Dan, Dhadkan, Red Alert, Main Hoon Na, Rakshak, Krishna, Hu Tu Tu, Krodh, Jungle, Aaghaaz, Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar, Kaante, Apna Sapna Money Money, Welcome, Hulchul and Shootout at Lokhandwala. Sunil will also be seen in Hera Pheri 4 and No Problem in 2010.
He’s looked upon in Indian Cinema as the big Brother because he’s always protective like an elder brother for his loved ones, always there for them when they need his help. Despite belting out so many movies in his career, Sunil Shetty is content with the place he’s earned himself in Bollywood and seems in no rush to grab more work.
