Dancing Sensation

Shahid Kapoor’s looked upon as the one of the heartthrobs of Bollywood. He’s also one of the best actors and dancers in Indian cinema. Shahid was born on 25 February 1981 in Delhi to actors Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azeem; they divorced when Shahid was only three. He has a stepmother actress Supriya Pathak. This vegetarian has a sister named Sanah and two brothers named Ruhaan and half-brother actor Ishaan Khattar. His grandfather was the Late Anwar Azeem who was a noted journalist.

His personal life created a lot of interest to the media as he dated actress Kareena Kapoor for three years and then they broke up. After the break up, Shahid was linked with tennis sensation Sania Mirza, actresses Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra.

Shahid started off his career by appearing in advertisements and music videos. He’s a trained dancer from the Shiamak Davar Institute for the Performing Arts. He was a background dancer in the 1999 movies Taal and Dil To Pagal Hai. He got his break in the teenybopper movie Ishq Vishk alongside Amrita Rao. He was then seen in the unsuccessful movie Fida. He got lukewarm responses for his other movies Dil Maange More, 36 China Town, Chup Chup Ke and Fool and Final. Shahid became a star only after the 2006 movie Vivah opposite Amrita Rao. He then acted in the super successful Jab We Met opposite Kareena Kapoor.

Shahid gave a performance packed acting in the blockbuster Kaminey in 2009. He’ll next be seen in Paathshala and Chance Pe Dance with Genelia D’Souza. This hardworking Delhi lad slowly rose to the top and was initially compared to Shahrukh Khan in terms of his acting. He’s come a long way since then and is now still looked upon as a rising star.
