Bollywood’s Latest Pin Up Boy
Ranbir Kapoor’s looked upon as the current heartthrob of Bollywood. He’s one of the best actors in Indian cinema. Born on 28 September 1982 in Mumbai this youngster has had acting in his family for generations. Coming from the family lineage of great stars, he’s the son of the famous actors Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. He’s the great grandson of Prithviraj Kapoor and the grandson of Raj Kapoor.
His Aunt is Babita and his Uncles are Randhir and Rajiv Kapoor; his cousins are Karisma and Kareena Kapoor and Nilkhil Nanda who’s married to Shweta Bachchan. He has one sister, Riddhima Kapoor who’s now married. Ranbir studied at the Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai. He also studied method acting in New York from The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
The youngest Kapoor started off his career as an assistant director with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Black and then acted in Saawariya in 2007 with Sonam Kapoor, the daughter of famous actor Anil Kapoor. The movie didn’t fare so well at the box office but got him recognition. He then acted in Bachna Ae Haseeno with his then girlfriend Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu as well as Minissha Lamba. Ranbir tasted success at the box office with the 2009 release, Wake Up Sid and Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
His other release from the same year, Rocket Singh performed average at the box office. All eyes are pinned for his next two releases, Rajneeti where he stars alongside Ajay Devgan and Katrina Kaif and Anjaana Anjaani.
His popularity has soared so much that he’s surpassed superstars like Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. Constantly being compared to his parents at the beginning of his career Ranbir has now showed his Critics with super hits that he’s a force to reckon with.
