Rajesh Roshan
The Talented Rajesh Roshan
Famous Bollywood music composer Rajesh Roshan is the son of Bollywood composer Roshan, brother of director Rakesh Roshan and uncle to actor Hrithik Roshan. Like most of the best musicians we have today, he too learned music at a young age. His first Hindi movie composition was for Kunwara Baap. However, it was his songs from the movie Julie brought him to fame. The song "Dil kya kare ab kisko kisise pyar ho Jaye" will always be an evergreen hit. Songs from the movies Jaag Utha Insan and Khoon Bhari Maang were great hits of the 1980s.
He was one of the first directors to get legendary actor; Amitabh Bachchan to sing in movies. "Mere Paas Aao" from the movie Mr.Natwarlal had Big B singing for the first time. During 1990s, when renowned composers like Laxmikant-Pyarelal and Bappi Lahiri weren’t doing so well, Rajesh was still making hits with movies like Jurm, Bahaar Aane Tak, Karan Arjun, Sabse Bada Khiladi, Papa Kahte Hain, Koyla, Laawaris and Daag. Rakesh had a noteworthy relationship with Mohammed Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar. He has been known to compose many of Rakesh Roshan’s movies. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Koi… Mil Gaya and Krrish were some of his best movies with his brother, all staring Hrithik Roshan. Singer Lucky Ali gained recognition with songs “Na tum jaano na hum” and “Ek pal ka Jeena” from Kaho Na Pyar Hai.
This soft-spoken composer was termed by Laxmikant as “The Last Of The Originals” and by Kavita Krishnamurthi as the most gentlemanly of all the composers.
“Chookar mere manko kiya tune kya ishara" from the movie Yaarana was another well-known song of his. His song like “Mungda…Mungada” will remain classic unforgettable cabre songs, while song likes "Sara jamana” will remain rocking disco hits.
