Milenge Milenge Review

This was a much awaited movie when it was made 5 years back but now it just seems like a total bore and completely outdated. Shaid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor are two very stylish actors but because film can safely be called out of fashion, their dressing and make up stand out like a sore thumb!

Kareena those days was neither size zero nor was she haute couture. She wears garish make up in the film (check out her ultra glossy lipstick and blonde streaks of hair). Shahid Kapur looks like a little school boy in front of her. The movie revolves around this girl Priya (Kareena) who is longingly waiting for her Mr Right to come her way and sweep her off her feet. Her only motive in life is to find true love and settle down. She feels ecstatic one day when a tarot card reader tells her that she will find ‘him’ seven days later at 7 AM wearing the seven colours of the rainbow. Inspired heavily by the Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack starrer ‘Serendipity’, the girl (once she has found Shahid) tell him that their phone numbers written on two currency notes will come back to them one day. If that happens, it means they are meant to be together. As a result, they will contact each other.

‘Milenge Milenge is directed by Satish Kaushik and produced by Boney Kapoor. It also stars Aarti Chhabria, Satish Shah, Delnaz Paul and  Kirron Kher as the supporting cast. The unique selling point of this film was the Shahid Kareena pairing because this is probably the last time we got to see the two of them together. However, since they had completed the rest of the parts of their remaining roles quite reluctantly as part of their professional commitment post break up, they seem wooden and highly disinterested.
