It seems that “Chak de” fever is here to stay. Come March 19th and the audience will be enthralled with debut venture of Sai Om Films. Contrary to its name, Lahore is a high voltage sports movie, directed by debutant Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, shot extensively in Delhi, Mumbai, Lonavala, Hyderabad and Malaysia and few parts in Lahore.
The film has an impeccable star cast of seasoned actors like Nafisa Ali, Farooq Sheikh, Ashish Vidyarthi, late Nirmal Pandey, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Sourav Shukla, Sushant Singh, and Kelly Dorji. This film also marks the debut of Aanaahad.
The movie has been worked upon by some of the best technicians in today’s times. The music is composed by MM Kreem and New York based musician Wayne Sharpe (of the Oscar nominated movie “fire dance” fame), sports consultant is Robert Miller (of chak de fame), cinematography by Rolf Dekens and Neelam Kaul and action by Hong Kong-based Tony Leung Siu Hung.
The movie has already received a critical reviews and honors in numerous international forums including Best Feature Film Jury’s Award at the 42nd World Fest (Houston), Most Aspiring Filmmaker at International Filmmaker Fest (UK), Best Actor Award at Salento International Film Festival (Italy), Best Actor Award at Tenerife International Film Festival Award (UK) and commendable six nominations including Best Picture and Best Director at Asian Fest of First Film (Singapore).
The movie revolves around the game of kick boxing. It’s an epic story of two brothers in Rajasthan who fought to save the honor and pride of their nation. Dheerendra Singh (Sushant Singh) is an ardent kick boxer from Rajasthan with a burning desire to become the part of national team solely on his merits. He beats all the odds to achieve his ambition and gets the opportunity to be the part of bilateral kick boxing event with Pakistan. The whole nation watches in despair as the sporting spirit is defied.
Veerender Singh (Aanaahad) Dheerendra’s brother always dreamt of making big in the world of cricket. This event changes his life forever. How he deals with this indisposed change in his life? Will he leave his promising cricketing career to take on his brother’s tormenter in the kickboxing? Will he be able to salvage the pride and honor of his brother and a nation of a billion?
