Kajol Devgan formerly Kajol Mukherjee goes by the name Kajol. She is one of the best actresses in Indian cinema. Born in a family of talent and celebrities it’s no wonder this 5 August 1975 Leo has acting in her blood. Her mother is one of Bollywood’s most talented actresses, Tanuja whose sister was the late actress Nutan. Her father was film producer Shomu Mukherjee.
Her family includes film producers Joy and Deb Mukherjee, her grandfather was the filmmaker Sashadhar Mukherjee who was married to Satirani Devi, the sister of Ashok, Anoop and Kishore Kumar. Her Late grandmother, Shobhna Samrathand, great grandmother Rattan Bai were actresses and her cousins Rani and Sharbani Mukherjee are actresses. Her other cousins are director Ayan Mukherji and actor Monish Behl. She has a younger sister; actress Tanisha. Kajol’s married to a popular actor Ajay Devgan who she has a daughter, Nysa with.
She started her career at seventeen after she dropped out of St. Joseph’s convent school in Panchgani and made her debut with the box office failure Bekhudi in 1992. It was her second movie Baazigar in 1993 alongside Shahrukh Khan that turned her into a star. Her list of successful movies include Yeh Dillagi, Hulchul, Karan Arjun, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Gupt, Ishq, Pyaar Kiya to Darna Kya, Dushman, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dil Kya Kare, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Fanaa, U Me Aur Hum. She will also be seen in My Name is Khan and the hindi version of Stepmom.
Always known for her phenomenal acting and lively nature, she has done extremely well and done justice to all the roles offered to her. Kajol is till date looked upon as the finest and most talented actresses in Indian Cinema.
