Himesh Reshammiya: Music Director, Singer and Actor
Himesh Reshammiya is a Bollywood music director, composer, singer and actor. He knew that the entertainment industry was his calling for a young age. At the age of sixteen he started working in Zee TV production house and produced television serials, Andaz and Amar Prem.
He started his career as a music director when he approached Salman Khan who had just made it big with the hit movie Maine Pyar Kiya. He gave Reshammiya the chance to be a music director for the movie Bandhan along with composer Anand Raj Anand. Since then, Himesh and Salman have had a string of hits for movies such as Pyar Kiya to Darna kya, Ye Hai Jalwa, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge and Tere Naam. He worked as a music director for movies like Aitraa, Humraaz, Banaras – A Mystic Love Story, Aksar, Ashiq Banaya Aapne, Phir Hera Pheri, Namaste London, Welcome and Dasavatharam. The movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne introduced him as a singer. The title track won him the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award. Reshammiya made a special appearance in Tom, Dick and Harry. He made his debut as an actor in the movie Aap Kaa Surroor – The Real Luv Story in 2007. He was also the lead in Karzzz, which was a remake of Karz. He came out with his debut private album; Aap Ka Suroor in 2006.
Reshammiya has a plan to start a music school in four Indian metros called Himesh Reshammiya School of Music. He carries the proud honor of being the first singer and composer to perform at Wembley & Heinekens music hall. His nasal style of singing, cap and the way he hold his microphone are his trademark looks. Pop music and catchy techno beats gives him his own unique style of composition.
