A. R. Rahman is an Indian Music Director born on 6 January 1966 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu as A. S. Dileep Kumar. In 1984, when his younger sister fell severely ill and he was introduced to Qadri Islam. At 11, he started playing in a orchestra of Malayalam composer M. K. Arjunan, a friend of his father R. K. Shekhar. Later, he started working with best known composers such as Raj-Koti, M. S. Viswanathan, Ramesh Naidu, Ilaiyaraaja, Zakir Hussain etc.

He obtained a scholarship with Trinity College, London and he holds a diploma in Western Classical Music. He is founder of a rock band “Nemesis Avenue”.

He has received 102 awards with high profile awards like two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe, four National Film Awards, fourteen Filmfare Awards, thirteen Filmfare Awards South, Padma Shri, Guinness World Records and many more.

No Entry is a rib tickling multi starrer comedy, which released in 2005. It was the best and highest grossing movie of 2005. The multi starrer cast consists of Salman Khan, Fardeen Khan, Anil Kapoor, Esha Deol, Bipasha Basu, Celina Jaitely and Lara Dutta. Prem (Salman) is a successful businessman and is married to a simple girl named Pooja (Esha) who trusts her cheating husband. She reveals at the end that she’s known all along that he’s cheated on her but hoped he would have change.

Kishen (Anil) a loyal husband and a newspaper baron is married to an over suspecting wife Kaajal (Lara.) A frustrated Kishen turns to his best friend Prem to find someone who he can have an affair with. Prem then introduces him to a call girl, Bobby (Bipasha.) The affair doesn’t take place but due to circumstances Bobby is introduced to Kaajal as Shekhar aka Sunny’s (Fardeen) fiancé.

Sunny is a photographer in Kishen’s newspaper, he meets a girl named Sanjana (Celina) and falls in love with her. The movie has a lot of confusion as well as twists and turns but ends on a happy note with Kaajal promising to not suspect her husband again, Sunny and Sanjana being happily married and Pooja forgiving Prem and remaining with him.

No Entry is written and directed by Anees Bazmee; his first attempt with comedy, which proved to be a tremendous success. Anil Kapoor with an outstanding comic performance stood out in a multi starrer movie. The movie despite being a comedy has a moral, which says when you get yourself in a web of lies; more lies are needed to cover those. It’s better to tell the truth, face the circumstances and consequences rather than creating a bigger mess with the lies and deceit.

Musical Trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy

The Indian musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy teamed together to provide music for several Indian films. Each member of the group brings their own talent and experience to the group. Shankar Mahadevan has a deep soulful voice with Caranatic and Hindustani background. Ehsaan Noorani is an axe master on the electric guitar with a thorough knowledge of western rock. Loy Mendonsa has strong understanding of fusion and is a master of the electronic synthesizer.

Prior to the trio’s integration, Ehsaan was doing jingles while Loy was writing for television and Shankar was already a singer. Their first project together was for the film Dus. Since then, they have created some of the most amazing songs we have of our time. Mission Kashmir, Dil Chahta Hai, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Bunty Aur Babli , Taare Zameen Par, and Rock on are just some of their works in Bollywood. They have also worked on Tamil movies; Aalavandhan and Yavarum Nalam and the Telugu film, Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam. It goes without saying that these musical geniuses have won several awards. Their Bunty Aur Babli and Kal Ho Naa Ho won them the Filmfare Awards, while Dil Chahta Hai got them the RD Burman Award. The songs from Kal Ho Naa have also won them a National Award. They have also won Star Screen Awards. They have come together for the English movie, Rockford too.

Besides just working on songs for movies, they have worked on some amazing popular jingles. They have created music for Anil Dhirubhai Ambani’s Reliance, Pepsi (Oye bubbly), Aditya Birla World Academy and Commonwealth. They have also composed music for a recent TV Show Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? hosted by Shah Rukh Khan. The trio, also known as SEL; have created chart topping hits those unlike any other.

Hip and Happening Sandeep Chowta

Sandeep Chowta is a renowned music director. For the first time in the history of Indian cinema, background scores became more popular than the original tracks. Sandeep’s versatility in music comes from the different geographic locations that he’s lived in. He was born in Ghana, raised partly in Nigeria and Bangalore and now resides in Chennai. His music has created waves through the country.

He has always had a keen interest in jazz. He chose to pursue his passion for music instead of getting involved in the family hospitality business. In his earlier days he was part of the band called “Pulse”. He got his chance to be a music director with the Telugu movie Ninne Pelladutha, which was a major success. It turned out to be one of the biggest ever. His debut Hindi movie was Sanam but his film Satya, was which established him in Bollywood. His songs from Ram Gopal Varma’s blockbusters ‘Mast’ and ‘Jungle’ were strikingly brilliant, as were songs like “Kambakth Ishq” from Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and "Khallas" from Company. Sandeep has introduced many talents into the industry like VIVA and Sunidhi Chauhan. His smashing songs from the Telugu movie Super resulted in Telugu songs making it to the national channels for the first time.

Sandeep’s immense knowledge of global music has helped him create some of the most happening tunes. He has also directed many stylish and different music videos like Khubsoorat and Call of the Lover. Recently he directed an effective ten-minute short film titled ‘Dead End’ which is about the drug peddling menace rampant in the country. His music is always fabulous and defies global segregations. He is the only Asian composer to feature amongst songwriters like Sir Paul Mcartney and Natasha Bedingfield on the worldwide album “TEMPERATURE RISING”.

Himesh Reshammiya: Music Director, Singer and Actor

Himesh Reshammiya is a Bollywood music director, composer, singer and actor. He knew that the entertainment industry was his calling for a young age. At the age of sixteen he started working in Zee TV production house and produced television serials, Andaz and Amar Prem.

He started his career as a music director when he approached Salman Khan who had just made it big with the hit movie Maine Pyar Kiya. He gave Reshammiya the chance to be a music director for the movie Bandhan along with composer Anand Raj Anand. Since then, Himesh and Salman have had a string of hits for movies such as Pyar Kiya to Darna kya, Ye Hai Jalwa, Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge and Tere Naam. He worked as a music director for movies like Aitraa, Humraaz, Banaras – A Mystic Love Story, Aksar, Ashiq Banaya Aapne, Phir Hera Pheri, Namaste London, Welcome and Dasavatharam. The movie Aashiq Banaya Aapne introduced him as a singer. The title track won him the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award. Reshammiya made a special appearance in Tom, Dick and Harry. He made his debut as an actor in the movie Aap Kaa Surroor – The Real Luv Story in 2007. He was also the lead in Karzzz, which was a remake of Karz. He came out with his debut private album; Aap Ka Suroor in 2006.

Reshammiya has a plan to start a music school in four Indian metros called Himesh Reshammiya School of Music. He carries the proud honor of being the first singer and composer to perform at Wembley & Heinekens music hall. His nasal style of singing, cap and the way he hold his microphone are his trademark looks. Pop music and catchy techno beats gives him his own unique style of composition.
