Recently he has acted in a short film called “Friday the 6th” as the lead. This short film is directed by Shubh Malhotra. He just loves world cinema and Bollywood. He has done plays with theatre groups such as Shabd and Yatri. He has done acting workshops with many great actors. He loves reading books and movies excites him. He is currently working on short film called “Gangster Pinto”, which will be targeted for international film festivals. He is acting writing and directing this short film. He has also signed a movie called “Cal back” as a lead actor, in which he is playing the role of serial killer. which is done in Hindi and Telugu. There is another Bollywood movie which he will be working in. It is done by a independent film maker. This movie is inspired by Tamil super hit movie “Pizza”.

He tells he is always excited about doing good movies with mind blowing scripts and intelligent directors. Anyways this guy is in no hurry. He knows his moves well and has sharp sense of choosing good scripts.

Karan Johar is one India’s young and fresh talents. He is the son of Hiro Johar and late Yash Johar and has directed and produced many successful films. He made his Bollywood debut in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge as an actor and assistant director. Karan has great taste in clothes. He selected costumes for Shahrukh Khan, the lead actor in the movie. He continued this practice for several of Shahrukh’s movies like Dil To Pagal Hai, Duplicate, Mohabbatein, Main Hoon Na, VeerZaara and Om Shanti Om.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was his directorial debut staring ShahRukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherji. Apart from direction, he was also the writer for this movie. This was a blockbuster hit that won eight Film Fare Awards in various categories. His second film as director, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham was yet another movie which stole the spot light. It was a heartwarming movie about loving your parents, which won five Film Fare Awards. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, another ShahRukh Khan starer was a major hit abroad; it was the highest grossing overseas film of all time but it was not too well accepted in India. His latest film, My Name Is Khan is to be released shortly and his is also working on the Hindi remake of the Hollywood flick, Stepmom.

Apart from acting, directing, writing and, telling Shahrukh what to wear, he is also a TV celebrity. Karan hosts his own show, Koffee With Karna, which is a casual, and fun entertaining show with celebrity guests. This postgraduate in French is currently the head of Dharma Productions, which was established by his father. Besides wining several awards in the entertainment industry, he was honored by being chosen as one of 250 Global Young Leaders by the Geneva-based World Economic Forum 2006.

Intrepid Director Madhur Bhandarkar

Madhur Bhandarkar is a three-time National Award winning filmmaker. He grew up facing rough times. He is a school drop out who used to work as an errand boy at a video store where he would drop of cassettes to people from different walks of life.

He was an assistant to director Ashok Gaikwad Bhandarkar and later to Ram Gopal Varma. He has worked on the pilot episode of the TV serial Apne Rang Hazaar, which proved to be futile. His first film, Trishakti, took more than two years in the making. He seemed to have met with another dead end as this movie went unrecognized. His second film, Chandini Bar was highly acclaimed and took him to the top league of directors in Bollywood. Fortune was by his side. He has a series of successful films one after another. Page 3, a movie about the glamorous world of celebrity lifestyle did tremendously well at the box office.

He admits that his next film, Corporate was a very challenging film, as he knew that the corporates would not appreciate him for his Page 3. It was a movie about the dark side of the business world. Fashion was another film that helped Bhandarkar reach great heights in his career. It was about the fashion world and what really happened behind the cameras. Former Vice President of India and BJP leader L.K.Adwani appreciated him for his latest film; Jail, which is about the cruel realities faced by prisoners in Indian jails.

Bhandarkar often prefers to have strong females as the lead protagonist. His movies are a platform to express his views they reflect the society for what it really is. From selling chewing gum at traffic signals, he is now one of India’s leading and reputed directors and scriptwriters.
