The movie directed by Jagmohan Mundra seems to be just the remake of Hollywood movie ‘Single White Female’, a thriller directed by Barbet Scroeder’s. As every Bollywood movie, this is also adding some masala and songs to the Hollywood movie to make Bollywood film.
Apartment film is about a schizophrenic female who makes other girl’s life into a hell, one role played by Neethu Chandran and other by Tanushree. Tanushree Dutta working as an Airhostess shares the apartment with her boyfriend. They go on together by sharing, caring and understanding each other. Anupam kher happened to be the couple’s friendly neighbor and he doesn’t have much role in it. But Tanushree being quite possessive doubts her boyfriend’s faithfulness, as she happened to see a woman wiping her cleavages with the apron when she suddenly enters. After this incident she kicks of her boyfriend, but it doesn’t take long time for her to realize that she can’t afford the rent by herself.
Soon Neethu Chandra appearing as a simple and modest girl for want of accommodation comes into her life sharing her apartment. She never realized that her roommate can even turn into a murderer. As the story moves on, Neethu began to eye on Tanushree’s every asset and doesn’t leave even her boyfriend Rohit, with whom she unites again.
For people who have not yet seen the Hollywood movie ‘Single White Female’, it might be a so-called thriller, for others it won’t be anything special.
Though the film is somewhat similar to that of the Hollywood movie, there is cheerless vagabond of Neethu Chandra and Tanushree Dutta which furnishes ‘Apartment’ into an unexpected twist. Each movement in the film being quite predictable, the whole suspense lacks thrill, though it delivers certain terrorizing moments in order to keep people on place. The fights that Neethu carries out don’t seem to quiver you in any manner and is critical for the film.
