Anil Kapoor is one of the best and talented actors in Indian cinema. Anil was born on 24 December 1959 in a Mumbai Chawl to film producer Surinder Kapoor and Nirmal. He has two brothers, producer Boney who’s married to actress Sridevi and actor Sanjay Kapoor as well as a sister named Reena. He married Sunita Bhambhani in 1984 and has 3 children, actress Sonam, Rhea and Harsh. Anil Kapoor also started a production company, which experiments with different genres of movies.
Anil made his Bollywood debut with the movie Hamare Tumhare in 1979 in a supporting role but got his break as a lead actor in Who Saat Din in 1983. He got recognized for his roles in the movies Mashaal, Meri Jung and Karma but it was Shekhar Kapur’s ‘Mr. India’ that turned him into a superstar overnight.
Some of Anil’s successful movies are Tezaab, Ram Lakhan, Parinda, Kishen Kanhaiya, Lamhe, Beta, Laadla, 1942: A Love Story, Judaai, Deewana Mastana, Biwi No.1, Loafer, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain, Taal, Pukar, Hamara Dil Aaple Paas Hai, Nayak, No Entry, Welcome, Race and Slumdog Millionaire. Anil will soon be seen in the award winning T.V. show ‘24’ playing a vital role of a Middle Eastern man.
Anil Kapoor is one of the few actors who has survived from the action era and made a niche for himself. Most of his films were inspired from South Indian movies. Always remembered for his comic timing and chemistry with actresses Juhi Chawla, Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit, he won the hearts of millions in his simple and common man roles.
