Dil Chahtha Hai Akshay Khanna
Akshaye Khanna is one of the best actors in Bollywood. This award-winning dimpled star was born on 28 March 1975 and is the youngest son of actor turned politician Vinod Khanna from his first marriage. His siblings are Rahul and half brother Sakshi and half sister Shraddha. Vinod was initially not very involved with his first family, as he had gone for four years to be a part of Osho’s camp. This resulted in his then wife Geetanjali divorcing him.
Akshaye made his debut in movies with Himalaya Putra in 1997. He got recognized for his performance in Border but became a star after he worked in the movie ‘Taal’ with the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai. Some of Akshaye’s successful movies worldwide are Dil Chahta Hai, Humraaz, Hungama, Hulchul, Aa Ab Laut Chalen, 36 China Town, Gandhi, My Father and Race. His next releases are Autograph Remake, Basra, No Problem and Ab Dilli Door Nahin.
Akshaye’s last movie Shortkut was a box office disaster but that doesn’t seem to slow the Khanna boy down. He has always maintained a low profile and has kept away from the media glare. Being an intense actor he chooses roles which allow him the chance to portray a variety of emotions in his movies. Having tasted success early in his career the latter half of his career seems to be moving very slow. He’s unfazed with the comparisons to his talented father and to his handsome elder brother, who used to associate himself with only ‘art’ films.
Akshaye was reported to have dated actresses Tara Sharma and Urvashi Sharma who it’s been speculated he’s had on and off relationships with. His movies may not have all been blockbusters but his performances speak wonders about his talent even if the movies failed at the box office.
