The Movie is based on the issue of Job Reservations and Student Politics and stars
Bachchan reportedly plays a college principal, a character inspired by his father and renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
Saif plays his favorite student, who belongs to a backward class and supports the job-reservation. Deepika Padukone plays the Principal’s daughter and is paired with Saif.
