Aakrosh is made under the direction of by Priyadarshan. The movie Aakrosh casts Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu, Akshaye Khanna, Reema Sen, Paresh Rawal,. With this film, Priyadarshan had shifted his genre from comedy movie to serious issue. He decided to do film that are laden with strong message. This time he made movie with the motto ‘there is no honor in honor killing’.
The story goes somewhat like this. Three college friends got missing in the small village of Jhanjhar in Bihar. For about 2 months they were missing. The college was set on fire by the media. By seeing the ferocious media, higher bureaucrats send Siddhant Chaturvedi role played by Akshaye Khanna and Pratap Kumar role played by Ajay Devgan to solve the case.
While the two officers carried on with their CBI enquiry they got to know about many dirty issues of this case which they considered it to be lenient. Unfortunately, it became difficult for them to solve the case because of interference of the local police officer supported by Ajatshatru who is SP in police department. The shool sena who was supported by the politicians have killed the three boys (college friends). Later the investigation was joined by Amita Pathak as Roshini and Bipasha Basu as Geeta. They found a witness for the case but unfortunately he was killed.
Many shots in Aakrosh were related to many instances in Hollywood movie, Priyadarshan cleverly put it up as a desi plot. The starting of the film was quite interesting but the climax was not very impressive. It took a long time for the plot to actually get established. But nevertheless the fantastic performance of Ajay Devgan and Akshayee Khanna made the film worth watching. Cinematography done by Thiru was also too good. Paresh Rawal has once again proved himself, and actresses Amita Pathak, Bipasha Basu, Sameera Reddy and Reema Sen didn’t have much to perform. The music is given by Pritam.
