3 Idiots is the best and the highest grossing movie of 2009. The multi starrer cast consists of Amir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor and Boman Irani. 3 Idiots, directed by Rajkumar Hirani’s based on Chetan Bhagat’s Five Point Someone.
3 Idiots is a beautiful movie about friendship and standing up for yourself and what you believe in. It’s about following your heart and what you’re passionate about, to think out of the box, even if it’s unconventional. The most brilliant minds and thoughts are ridiculed at first but these are the people who make a difference in the world.
The movie’s story is of three engineering students Rancchoddas Shyamaldas Chanchad AKA Rancho (Amir), Raju Rastogi (Sharman) and Farhan Qureshi (Madhavan.) They study in the best college in all of India. Rancho is extremely intelligent and unlike his two other middle class friends is filthy rich. He studies for the heck of it and criticizes the education system and the lack of knowledge gained from it.
Professor Viru Sahastrabudhhe AKA Virus (Boman) the Dean, despises Rancho for his out of the box thinking. He feels threatened by him and tries his best to destroy his friendship with his other two friends. Despite all the challenges they face they get through college because of the support they find in each other. Pia (Kareena) is Virus’s daughter and loves Rancho.
They all lose touch with each other after graduating. Rancho’s actual name is Phunsukh Wangdu who was a servant in the real Rancho’s house. Phunsukh studied in the real Rancho’s place as an impostor. Phunsukh’s friends track him down and find out he’s now the world’s most brilliant scientist. The movie ends on a happy note with a reunion of them all and Pia and Phunsukh’s love story being complete.
